Nowadays, with so much malware online, it’s worth using a free virus and spyware scan because it can really save you from a lot of problems down the line. The age of technology has made our world much more automated and efficient in our business dealings. It has revolutionized how communication takes place between people with computers containing ways to email and instant message.

Cell phones allow not only for phone calls but to also text message people in real time and to check email from the phone itself. These aspects of technology have made life easier but not necessarily simpler.

Technology has made the all-seeing eye of Big Brother a reality. There are unscrupulous advertisers and website masters that install spyware unbeknownst to computer owners everywhere. It may be as simple as there’s this really cool game that my four year old loves to play to learn the alphabet. The parent downloads the game feeling that this is harmless, and besides it was offered for free. The people that designed the game may be interested in seeing what the buying patterns of parents of small children are. So, without the consent or awareness of the parent performing the download, the programmer has installed spyware to track which websites the family visits.

What’s really sad is alot of computer owners that encounter this issue assume the computer is on the fritz. Sometimes programs will run really slow or it may seem that the central processing unit and the guts of the computer are running at a snail’s pace. Most computer owners assume this is a hardware issue or perhaps they installed Windows incorrectly. The need for spyware repair never enters their mind and unfortunately many assume their computer is ready for the junk heap. Most computer owners will just go out and purchase another computer with never realizing that all they needed was a reliable spyware scan. This costs many computer owners hundreds of thousands and perhaps millions of dollars in the long run. A new computer wasn’t necessary at all.

This is dishonest to a severe degree. Run times of computers can be slowed to a turtle’s pace due to the spyware. Also, it’s a major breech of privacy since someone is secretly watching the buying habits of others without their permission. This is why a spyware scan becomes necessary anytime a download is performed from a website. It is imperative that anyone who owns a computer have a means by which to do a spyware delete from their system. Some computer owners may assume they are immune to spyware because they have a firewall or virus protection. This simply is not true. A firewall and virus protection cannot perform a spyware scan. Spyware removal software is necessary to detect the insidious presence of spyware on a computer system. Just this simple step may save many computer owners from making the grave error of getting rid of perfectly good computers in the future.

why avg free always detected virus found downloader.swizzor?

this situation just happens when i was afking or not touching it.if i’m using the pc, noting happens.. WHY? is this the problem of avg??

because its on auto-detect, which is what its supposed to do. Viruses and Trojans are always slipping into a computer as along as you are connecting to the internet. Likely this is a trojan/spyware virus trying to get in… just allow AVG to quarantine it.

This is a trojan. Read the help and tutorials in avg and find out what to do with it. You get these when you download free things, answer ing-questioners and from some websites. Avg tells you which web sites are safe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/trojan_horse_(computing) start internet explorer> on tools> internet options> in the temporary internet files sections, click delete files click ok You can view the files and remove 1 by 1. You can see what is in there.

How to completely get rid of Win32/Cryptor virus?

AVG 8.5 detected this virus in my computer, and put it in Virus Vault. Does that mean my computer is free of this virus? Why didn’t AVG antivirus program kill this virus? Will this virus continue to cause harm from within the virus vault?

If AVG found it, it killed it.

I’m not really sure why a lot of AVs quarantine viruses instead of deleting them. I think its so that if the virus attached itself to a file with good information, then in the future the AV might figure out a way to clean the file.

Either way, AVG took care of the virus. Its always possible there are others it couldn’t find.

Vundo Virus

Vundo Virus?

Ok im more than computer litterate so thats not a problem.

However Windows OneCare has found 3 major trojans.

Win32/Vundo.gen!E
Win32/Vundo.gen!H
Win32/Vundo.gen!G

Norton 360 missed them, Search and Destroy cant find 2 of them and Adaware dosent see them.

Onecare sees them but cant remove them it only Quarantines them an they still do damage.

I cant use many web pages it takes ages to load anything so i was lucky i could get on here. An i get bombarded with popups of all kinds. Adult dating, shopping, compos everything you name it.

Does anyone know of any tools or a way to get rid of all 3 of these once and for all im sick of them an they need to be gone.

The second problem is because of Vundo is there its opening my computer like a can an i keep getting trackers and other viruses and spyware which can be removed.

Vundo is the huge problem an it wont go HELP!!!

vundo is a major virus, however, there are special programs specifically designed to remove them
since you already know the names of the viruses, just put the names into google and I’ll guarantee that there is something that will remove them for you

Trojan Virus?

Whenever i plug the pen drive to my desktop or laptop, within a second it detects the Trojan virus(file name:kas.exe) and then i have to format my pen drive but after removing the pen drive, if i am scan my whole system, then it showing me no virus found. pls. help me out. thanks in advance.
But i had use 2-3 pen drive and same problem with this 2-3 pen drive.

The problem is on your pen drive. Reformat the pen drive which will delete everything that was on it. Good luck!

The Trojan virus was sitting on your USB devise. When you plugged it in your anti spy software most likely neutralized it.

If you scan you hard disk and there is no sign of that virus, then it’s not there.

And in overall, I think you are fine.

you have to reformat the drive…you should also check the drive for errors…u can do so by right-clicking the usb drive, the go to properties…then go to tools, and check for errors…this may help with your problem…

How Do You Get Rid of a Trojan Horse Virus

How do you get rid of a trojan horse virus?

My computer happens to have contracted a trojan horse virus, and it can’t be gotten rid of through the virus scanner. Is it possible to get rid of it without completely wiping my computer, if so can you explain the process in pretty good detail?
I have malwarebytes anti-malware already. I had that installed before i asked the question. The thing is, it quarantines the virus then when i try and get rid of it, it disappears, and i do another scan to make sure it works, but the two trojan horses are always there.

Hi,
this should be easy and simple to do, you just have to the following, look at the simple version first.
if you have any problems please just mail me back.

TRUST ME this works.

please do this :-
you have a really bad virus and the only thing to kill it is “Malwarebytes”, some times this virus blocks anti-virus sites so download it using another system on to a Flash drive then use the flash drive to install it onto the infected system, then reboot and then run a FULL scan of your system, if this fails try this, reboot and press F8 as it boots up, this will take you into safe mode, then run a Full scan again.
If it is still blocked & won’t install try this:-
When it asks you where you would like to save it, change the “mbam_setup.exe” file to xxxxx.exe.
Then install it, update it, and run a full scan in Safe mode.
This will clear your system of this virus.

This is also one of the best free anti-spyware programs; again always run your anti-virus software in “Safe Mode” on full scan.

Simple version of what to do:-
Download “Malwarebytes” onto a UBS Memory stick using a friends system
Use the Filehippo links as these are completely FREE

Reboot your system
As it boots up press (tap) F8
When in SAFE MODE install “Malwarebytes” using your USB Stick copy
When installed, run a full scan of your HDD
Reboot back into main windows again
Update “Malwarebytes” using the update tab page
Run another full scan of your HDD

Trust me this will not harm your system at all, only kill any bad stuff that’s on it.

This is completely FREE and easy to do and WORKS, so why not try this first??

On your desktop, try right-clicking your antivirus icon, then select Run as…Current user or Administrator (though you may not have the rights for Administrator).

If this doesn’t work, try booting your computer into Safe Mode with Networking, then download the free version of Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware. Install it, get updates and run a full scan (still in Safe Mode). Here’s a link:

If this is successful, I recommend running Malwarebytes’ again, after a normal reboot. It will detect malware that wasn’t running in Safe Mode.

Good answer by William K, but Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is intended to be run as a *quick* scan, and in NORMAL mode.

Run MBAM in safe mode ONLY if it won’t run in normal mode.

NOW whenever your antimalware program removes an infection, but it returns, that is a good indication that the infection got into your restore files and keeps restoring itself.

SO turn off your system restore temporally, run a *quick* scan with MBAM in NORMAL mode, let it remove what it finds, restart your computer, and turn system restore back on.

Also, if you have a Fake AntiVirus Program, it may be very difficult to remove without remotely scanning the hard drive or using a live-cd. With caution though, you could use ComboFix at:

shouldn’t of there been an option in AVG saying “Remove all Unhealed infections.”
usually with one virus comes many others- sometimes not even the best virus scanners can completely remove a virus once it is in your PC.
If you notice anything wrong or weird with your PC then read the following:

The best ways to deal with a virus is either a System Recovery, or install windows again. No anti-virus will completely remove a virus once it’s in your computer
System Recovery- when you turn on your computer there will be a screen saying something like:
F1=Setup
F2=Boot Menu
F10= System Recovery
Press and hold the system recovery button (it may be different for your computer)
and follow the simple steps. This will 100% remove the viruses but also any saved files, pictures, videos, documents etc. So back up the important ones or any you want to keep (use a USB key or an external hard drive)

Re- installing Windows:
This only works if u have a windows installation disk
Turn on the computer, insert the disk, then shut off the computer
Turn it on again there will be a screen saying “press any key to boot from CD/DVD” press any key you want to
It will bring you to windows setup and its best to install a clean copy of windows not a repair
follow the steps after
don’t forget to format the hard drive to remove every file and virus

think when your antivirus scans your computer and detects something like that it usually either automatically deletes it, or quarantines it.

if you are not sure if it got automatically deleted, go to the quarantined section of your antivirus program, and see if its in quarantine (which keeps the spyware in there disabled from staying active in your computer)
if it is there, you can delete it in there
