DONT DOWNLOAD AVG…….just look & read my source
AVG IS ONLY FOR POPULARITY BUT IN DETECTION OF WILD VIRUSES ARE VERY POOR / LOW DETECTION RATE AND ALSO DOESNT HAVE ANTI-ROOTKITS ( where viruses, malware, spyware worm, adware and many more hidding, staying, spread viruses to ur computer…ect ) AS COMPARED WHAT I Recommend…ACCORDING TO MY SOURCE….
In my personal opinion the BEST antivirus is AVIRA it has FREE and PAID COMPLETE SOFTWARE…..JUST LOOK AND READ MY SOURCE
I RECOMMEND FREE AVIRA ANTIVIR or AVIRa premuim it has LESS memory usage raher than many of the other antivirus programs ( free & paid ) available (e.g.AVG,Norton, Kaspersky, McAfee, bitdefender …)
You’ll be amazed how thoroughly FREE AntiVir protects:
1. detects and removes permanently more than 1500000 viruses
2. always among the winners of comparison test featured in computer journals
3. the resident Virus Guard serves to monitor file movements automatically, e.g. downloading of data from the internet
4. scanning and repair of macro viruses
5. protection against previously unknown macro viruses
6. safeguard against cost generating dial-up program
7. protection against trojaner, worms, backdoors, jokes and other harmful programs
8. easy operation
9. Internet-Update Wizard for easy updating
10. Protection against previously unknown boot record viruses and master boot record viruses

Internet Explorer has a built in pop-up blocker. Go to Tools>Popo-up-blocker>Pop-up blocker settings> Change filter level to high. Its at the end of the window.

Loads of malware in the wild utilize Windows vulnerabilities to produce misbehavior in browsers and systems. Defending Windows OS’s isn’t a single step, or a single application: it’s layers of protection and procedures that must be done.
When PC’s (personal confusers) misbehave (POP-UP’s; going to weird, unrequested sites; goofy warnings; etc.), & apart from removing any malware already installed on your system, one step (of several) that should be done is this:
you must TURN OFF 3rd PARTY COOKIES.
This helps reduce un-requested cookies ( = pop-ups & websites) from being displayed on your machine.
INTERNET EXPLORER: go to Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Advanced: here check ‘Override automatic….’; ‘Allow session cookies’; ‘Allow 1st party cookies’; & ‘BLOCK 3rd Party Cookies’.
FIREFOX: go to Tools> Options> Privacy: here UN-CHECK ‘Accept 3rd Party cookies’
OPERA, et al: not sure, check under ‘options’ for this.
Then, you’ll have to NEUTRALIZE MALWARE with Spybot, Ad Aware, and all available trusted cleaners & Anti-virus software, and suggested TOOLS FOR SPECIFIC INFECTIONS.

Have nearly ad-free pages when surfing; use Firefox with these add-ons:
