Question…
What happens when you get the Conficker virus?
A few months ago my computer wouldn’t turn on. Whenever I tried logging into my Windows Vista it would freeze up. I called for some help and they said my hard drive was busted. I did a full system recovery and it worked like a charm after that though I did lose a lot of my files.
So here is my question, what exactly happens when you get the Conficker virus? I think the problem I had before might of been related to this.

Conficker will delete any past system restore points, denying you access to it; it will disable any security patches; block access to any security websites( to download a cure); and feed your computer more Malware.
To avoid getting the worm, DO NOT open any suspicious email messages, or surf on malicious websites.
Just be extra cautious while on the internet, and update your virus protection regularly.

The new Conficker C Virus that is due to be released on April 1st (tomorrow) is very unpredictable. We all know what happened before but the intentions of the new Conficker are unknown. No one seriously knows what will happen. This thing is smart, it know how to be invisible, it can erase it’s tracks and is believed that it will use over 50,000 websites to communicate to the creators.
No one knows who the creators are, and no one knows what it will do. Most say that it will do nothing, others say that it’s a hoax, I personally think that it will take out all computers, Remember the “Y2K” scare? I think that will happen.

The “Conficker” worm / virus also known as “Downadup” infection, is actually a virus code programmed in such a way that it can infect your computer and spread itself to other computers across a network automatically, without human interaction.
One of its common version Conficker might spread through file sharing and via removable drives, such as USB drives (also known as thumb drives). The worm adds a file to the removable drive so that when the drive is used, the AutoPlay dialog will show one additional option.
The Conficker worm can also disable important services on your computer.

i’ve read somewhere and studied this conficker hype, looks like the system wont be affected unless you are running the “server” process of windows. If you’re not hosting a site, just a regular internet browser, i think you wont be affected.
just a hyped virus.
though the virus is very sophisticated and obviously programmed by a team of crackers, and not coded by a single person.
It will fire the keyboard buttons at you and will write profanity on your forehead. I think anyway. No it doesnt do dick all!!!
I will look for remote computer for instructions. It blocks some sites.
It says this in the paper
“It sits and waits for instructions to delete files, send millions of pieces of spam, steal credit card numbers or other valuable data, or bombard servers to grind them to a halt”
It looks like it could so a DOS attack.
